Zul!tas

While Western North Carolina’s premier indie garage pop art rock combo of the 2010s The Tills (Phuzz Records) may not have made many moves since the release of their controversial and thereby criminally under-publicized magnum opus LP “Canon” in 2017, rest assured their adorably indomitable heart, unhinged ebullience, and knack for capturing the sensual essence of true original “rock and roll” lives on in many forms.

One such form is the Eastern-meets-Western North Carolina underground supergroup “Zul!tas”. Zul!tas is comprised of two whole Tills (Lead Singer/Guitarist Harry Harrison, and Lead Singer/ Drummer Marty Martier) one hndclw (Bassist Taylor Casey) and one Zack Mexican (Lead Guitarist Matt Wentz). If you have read this far, there is nothing more that necessitates elaboration. If you know you know! But, if you’d like some unnecessary elaborative fun facts: Zul!tas derives its moniker from an accidental misspelling of Harry’s own granny, Zulieta. Musically, they cover many of the highlights from the Tills’ renowned live set, along with certified fresh new material from their apparently eternal well of unhinged ebullient inspiration. Take two wacky Tills, add an urgent, abrasive kick of  bass from hndclw’s TC (Taylor Casey), a slaphappy punch of world-building lead guitar work from ZM’s DW (Matt Wentz), and the adorably indomitable artistic integrity of 4 independent artists, each many many years too deep in a stubbornly uncompromising, debt-generating, insanely impractical, life-ruining pursuit to capture something no one can ever quite put their finger on, and you have a faint idea of how Zul!tas hits. But like I said before, if you know you know. There is much to like about Zul!tas I personally favor the adorable indomitability and the unhinged ebullience.
